Book This One First: Snow City Closes On 30 September

Snow City closes permanently on 30 September 2026 after 26 years, confirmed by the Science Centre Board. Its farewell campaign, One Last Snowfall, runs until then with Snow Play at roughly 30% off: $19 for adults and $16 for children, against usual prices of $27 and $23. After September there is no indoor snow in Singapore.

A sub-zero chamber in the tropics is a genuinely strange sensory experience for a Singaporean child, and the bumper cars on ice are the part they remember. There is a 0.9m height requirement for the bumper car.

Science Centre also sells a combined ticket. For citizens and PRs it is $27 for a child and $31 for an adult, covering the Science Centre plus an hour in Snow City.

Best for ages 4 and up, and best booked in the next few weeks rather than in September.

Fire A Pot In A Dragon Kiln

Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle sits at 85 Lorong Tawas, deep in western Jurong, and keeps one of the last dragon kilns in Singapore: a long wood-fired brick kiln built into a slope. Almost no child in Singapore has seen one.

The hand-building workshop is $50, runs two hours, and prices a parent with a child under 8 as $50 for the pair rather than $50 each. Children aged 8 to 14 pay their own $50. A trial on the potter's wheel is $80.

They do not accept walk-ins, cancellation inside four days carries an $8 per person administrative fee, and arriving more than 15 minutes late forfeits your seat. Finished pieces take three to four weeks. Their own site cheerfully describes the location as "far ulu Jurong", so allow travel time.

Best for ages 6 and up, and the rare activity where the parent enjoys it as much as the child.

Climb Five Storeys Of Net Inside A Shopping Mall

Airzone is suspended in the atrium of City Square Mall, running from level 2 to level 6. Children climb and crawl through nets strung above the shoppers below. It bills itself as the world's first indoor atrium net playground.

A session is $27.90, lasts 60 minutes including the safety briefing, and works out at roughly 45 minutes of actual play. Prices include GST, which is unusual in this sector.

The gates matter here. Minimum height is 0.9m and everyone must be under 120kg. If your child is under 115cm or under 5, a supervising adult needs their own $27.90 ticket, which doubles the cost. Above 115cm the adult can wait outside the nets and pays nothing.

Farrer Park MRT, Exit I. Re-entry is allowed as long as the wristband stays on. Tickets are strictly non-refundable.

Best for confident climbers aged 6 and up, where the adult ticket is not required.

Free, And Better Than Most Paid Options

Both children's gardens restrict adult entry to those accompanying a child, which is precisely why they stay calm. At Jacob Ballas the water play zone closes 31 August to 3 September 2026 and reopens on the 4th.

One trap worth knowing. National Gallery is free for citizens and PRs. Singapore Art Museum is not, at $15. Guides routinely treat the two as interchangeable.
