What Kids' Trial Classes Cost In Singapore (2026)

Most parents assume a trial class is either free or a token few dollars. In Singapore that is not the case. The verified range across enrichment providers runs from $9.90 at NK Robotics to $180 at The Learning Lab, a difference of eighteen times for something sold under the same word.

Price alone is not the useful number though. Two things matter more: how long the class runs, and whether the fee comes back to you if you enrol. Both are below.

The Most Expensive Trial In Singapore Is Not Called A Trial

The Learning Lab does not sell a trial class. It sells a "Lesson Experience", and its own terms state the fee plainly: the lesson fee for one regular lesson at the relevant level and subject.

Their published per-lesson rates run from $117.18 for the online tier, through $137.89 to $150.42 at Primary 1 to 4, up to $167.32 to $179.85 at JC level. So a trial at The Learning Lab costs between roughly $117 and $180 depending on your child's level.

It is a real lesson at a real price, not a taster. In fairness, it also runs one hour 45 minutes to two hours, which is by far the longest session in this guide, and they waive one lesson fee from your termly fees if you enrol afterwards. Their terms also state you cannot take a Lesson Experience in the same subject more than once a year, and that payment for the term must follow within three days to qualify for the incentive.

Which Trials Give You Your Money Back

This is the question that changes the maths. A $45 trial that is credited in full is cheaper than a $20 trial that is not.

AquaDucks – the $43.60 trial fee is fully refundable when you enrol. The most generous term found.
Little Splashes Aquatics – the $45 is credited towards a four-class bundle, but only if used within a week.
MindChamps – the $99.19 is rebated when you enrol in a Reading Programme.
The Learning Lab – one lesson fee is waived from termly fees if you enrol, subject to conditions.
NK Robotics – not refunded, but the $9.90 includes an Inventor Kit valued at $29.90, so you are ahead on paper.

Why Swimming Trials Are Never Free

Every swimming provider checked charges for a trial, without exception. AquaDucks $43.60, Little Splashes $45, OtterSwim $47 on a weekday and $52 at the weekend. There is no free swim trial anywhere in this data.

The economics are obvious once you see them. A swim trial needs pool time, a certified instructor and a ratio of about five children. A classroom trial needs a spare chair. The compensation is that swim schools are the most likely category to refund or credit the fee, and two of the three do.

Watch the registration fee, which is separate. OtterSwim charges a one-time $50 registration on top of the trial. Little Splashes charges $54.50. The Learning Lab charges $98.10 per new student plus a $150 deposit per subject. These are enrolment costs, not trial costs, and they are frequently larger than the trial itself.

Working Out Whether A Paid Trial Is Worth It

Three questions do most of the work.

What is the price per minute? Alpha Gymnastics at $20 for a full hour is 33 cents a minute. AquaDucks at $43.60 for 30 minutes, of which 20 are in the pool, is closer to $2.18 a minute of actual swimming. Neither is wrong, but they are not the same product.
Does the fee come back? If it is refunded or credited, treat it as a deposit rather than a cost.
Is your child in a real class? MindChamps caps trial students at two per live lesson and otherwise runs standalone sessions. A solo session tells you about the teacher, not about how your child copes in a group.

One provider to query before booking. BearyFun Gym publishes conflicting trial terms across its own pages, ranging from a free trial to a $50 three-class pack and an $80 one-week pass, with a $40 sibling rate. Julia Gabriel prints $28 and $18 for the same trial on the same page. Ask which applies.

Providers That Offer A Trial But Will Not Publish The Price

Eight providers advertise a trial without stating the cost. Expect a form and a callback rather than an instant answer: Global Art (24 outlets), Cristofori Music School (31 or more), Matrix Math (12 outlets), KidStartNow, The Dance Station, Swim Werks (27 pools), O School, Lorna Whiston (11 locations), and Artlette Art Studio, which requires payment to confirm and expires within a month.
